      One issue I have with this is that Laravel uses BCRYPT for pw storage so I can't (very easily) check their stored pw in the db wld b nice

      The only way you could check existing passwords would be if your password security sucked. This is by design.

      Also banning "pwned" emails doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Emails are not a security token. A "pwned" email is not insecure.
