I was gonna say, sysvinit is pretty dang old but it’s definitely not the only alternative to systemd

Yes it does. And that’s one distro. Which isn’t the distro I use, nor the one that most Linux users use.

TBF, you can get OpenRC on Arch (fairly popular these days). Also: note how Lennart *never* mentions OpenRC during systemd discussions.
