Firefox works fine. Welp.
TIL Chrome can't download PDFs that are the result of a POST request. It opens inline but the download button fails with "Network error".

what's the content-disposition on the response header? attachment or inline?

No content-disposition. Setting that to attachment works, as it bypasses the inline PDF display and goes straight to the download.

I never encountered this error, even when booking flights, train tickets etc.

The PDF was probably fetched via a GET request, not a POST request, or the local cache was involved (we disable caching).

This is why I always wondered why my S3 PDFs POST weren't downloading...
