      Basically you're proposing moving more duties/complexity back to the Netgear for the sake of avoiding a double NAT... why?

      Generally, NAT, is considered less than desirable. NAT can complicate things like tracing packets.

      Though two or more NATs is probably negligibly worse than a single NAT.

      That's the thing. Nothing really sees/notices the NAT in the middle except the two routers on either side.

      I should post a diagram of my home net sometime. It's physically very simple, and logically rather complex.

      There are... 7 SSIDs, 9 VLANs, 3 network namespaces, 3 VPNs involved. Oh, and transport mode IPSec.

      2 SSIDs, 14 (?) VLANs, 11 (?) namespaces. ? because: do veth pairs count as VLANs? Does the main NS count as an NS?

      I'm not counting veth as VLANs (nor VPNs), and I counted main NS but only on the router box. All in all 6-18 NSes depending (VMs involved)

          Excluding lab, hm, 2 ssids, 4 vlans, 1 6to4 tunnel and a pair of tunnels into a VPC. Trying to diagram it would probably give me a headache
