I've seen worse though, e.g. flat-out interlaced/field-merged video on YT (forget who it was, maybe
@LastWeekTonight at some point?).
Actually, for @TheDailyShow it's only the past few weeks. Before that they were doing only one consistent field (540p), no bob effect.

Doing some analysis, before it was 540p 30fps, now it's 540p 24fps with a duplicated frame to make 30fps. Field pattern: 1A 2A 3B 3B 4B

So there's some really screwed up roundtripping through 24fps involved somehow. Someone has no idea what they're doing.
