I wonder if sticking a logic analyzer on the cartridge bus would help. Problem is I don't have a sane flash cart around (fast enough) :/

Looking at the audio output stuff too... I really need to get myself a GBA, a USB link cable, and port some of my usual python stuff.
Seems there's a lot of research to be done on the finer points of audio mixing and PWM.
