Even worse Apple's AAC encoder is really the only worthwhile one, though libfdk_aac is somewhat serviceable

Look, I'm not judging you, writing encoders is hard, but the ffmpeg site proudly claims "better than fdk" and... not even close.

Dude, if they were inaudible I wouldn't have noticed in the first place. I just ABXed myself with two other piano tracks and 20/20.

Haven't found a non-piano sample yet. But at this point I'm confident ffmpeg-aac has, at least, a general problem encoding piano.

The only reason I'd use AAC is for compatibility with stupid stuff that only takes AAC. Like Twitter.
