And since Linux is GPLv2 (and so is grsecurity), there's no 'debt' to grsecurity either. You fork GPLv2 code, upstream gets to upstream it.
No one in KSPP land is saying "fuck you grsec, you don't get attribution". Actual mistakes are being corrected. Non-mistakes aren't.

So upstreaming files in that subdirectory without somehow magically knowing that amounts to removing copyright notices according to him.
