probably didn’t help that the first wave of usb-c devices were android phones, so there’s a low bar as long as they can charge @ 1.5A or so

Yeah, my 5X isn't even SuperSpeed. I used this cable to charge for months, it even (usually) managed fast charging... but it started failing
