      EVEN MORE PERPLEXING. WHAT. Best part is, the display options are "Automatic, 480, 720". No 1080 unless there's somekind of workaround.

      That sounds like an EDID problem. I had no trouble streaming 1080 into my PC via an HDMI-Ethernet thingy (aka cheapo capture card).
