Go's big advantage is goroutines, but they come at a massive design cost for everything else (e.g. GC, stack splitting, terrible C interop).
So Go makes it easy to write good-performance, simple, sharing-light network servers and clients... but that's about it IMO.
My first (and last) Go project happened to be a simple, sharing-light network server and client... that ran straight into the C interop mess
And it ran into the C interop mess because, as much as Go lovers wish it would, Go does *not* have good numerical performance.
So I had to use Real C Libraries™ to do the actual work (JPEG decoding, image scaling, JPEG encoding) and that was *very* painful in Go.
