If they keep forbidding soldering irons and lasers in the hackcenter though (like 33c3), that's kind of sad.

I've been on the other side of the handheld laser nonsense though (I'm staff at Spain's largest demo/LAN party). We always get idiots.
Honestly it's a miracle they haven't blinded anyone so far. Those Class IV handheld lasers are a nuisance and a huge danger.

There has got to be a better and easier way to be permitted the use of laser tech without our crazy long complicated permits.
