I have no doubt WMF is pissing away money, but this post tries to correlate numbers of pages with bandwidth, which is ridiculous and dumb.
I'd say the author of this is someone with zero knowledge of how website hosting and software development works.based on their statements
You don't have to use Wikipedia though. They're not doing anything shady and donations are voluntary.
Don't get me wrong, I certainly hope Wikipedia continues to exist. I just don't want people to get the idea that they're somehow struggling.
If you look at their accounts they spend <$5m/year on hosting. The rest of their huge money pile is pissed up the wall on staff+partying
