Apparently Mastodon is AGPLv3'd. That means it's not licensed under a Free Software license; the AGPL is an EULA (like the Windows EULA).
(Though Stallman will never admit to that, of course, but it plainly is: it restricts *usage*, not just *distribution*.)

...and how does this matter? The point of the AGPL is that *practically*, running server software is akin to distribution
