      Mostly transparent (if your PCIe IP core supports the required configuration options), although slow(ish) - see @marcan42's 33c3 talk.

      The problem is that most IP cores do not support "just give me the packets". We had to hack a softcore to do it. Goal is to go full DIY.

      The Spartan6 core is pretty transparent, apart from CfgRd/Wr packets (which it handles itself). I'll cross that bridge when I get there...

      Yeah, the cfp packets are the ones we didn't want stolen. We used a hacked Lattice softcore. I'd rather make a Spartan softcore though.

      Do you want to use the S6 GTPs or an external parallel PHY? Some of the latter ones looks really nice, but complete control is nice, too...
