Some people were saying the Switch charger is buggy/broken. No, just paranoid. Your device is broken. Charger needs power cycle to reset.

The Nintendo Switch charger *correctly* identifies itself as a 1.5A capable charger. Many devices *incorrectly* try to draw more current.

And yes, the Nexus 5X is one such noncompliant device, as is Anker's PowerCore 20100 :(

I can confirm that my
@AnkerOfficial PowerCore+ 20100 can't directly charge my Switch over USB-C.2 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -

Huh? Sure it can. Hit the button on the PowerCore before plugging it in.

I just tested it again and I was mistaken. The PowerCore fails to be charged by the Switch supply, and the Powercore can charge my console.

That matches what I see. Also, you can charge the PowerCore *from* the console (if you don't power it on first) though that's kind of silly.
