So many people are getting the SHA1 story wrong. With the collision that Google released, *anyone* can create colliding PDFs for *free*.

I thought that hashes included a checksum of the document or data itself and this collision required intense math

Getting two chunks to collide requires intense math. Adding the *same* data after them maintains the collision.
