      Note: I think the survey is inherently biased, and that StackOverflow is wrong to portray it as representative of the entire dev community.

      Do you mean companies that hire *exclusively* from SO? Balance is important but no candidate pool is bias-free.

      How does that work then? I imagine companies should be judged by the totality of their hiring pool, not a single component.

          Because no component is unbiased, and some may be good indicators for other reasons. You can compensate/counter the bias.
