      I would have *loved* more details about sidestepping the sandbox though. ;-/ (I already had ideas for hypervisor use... later.)

      The kernel sandbox? It's just an exploit in stuff available in the sandbox. Once you have code exec disabling it is trivial.

      but, what sort? Not a FreeBSD jail, bhyve, VIMAGE, Xen dom0 or similar I'm guessing? Something Sony-ish? (I have no PS4).

      It's a freebsd jail thing with Sony customizations IIRC (syscall filter). No hypervisor.
