I don't know how it compares performance-wise. This isn't about performance, it's about the chip design. It's a distinct chip.

You mentioned a display port to hdmi conversion, is that because of HDCP you think? Maybe included in that encoder.

Pretty sure AMD supports HDCP too. And the encoder doesn't support HDCP2.0 so no 4K content...
