@marcan42 Which chip would you use for a safe IoT project? Requirement: safe:full open source/easy audit-able, WiFi, TLS1.2, >=3 GPIO ports.
I'm interested in porting Mynewt to the MT7687 and having a full open stack on the user core. WiFi core still needs a blob though

If you need true blob-less I think right now your only option is a Linux board (not an rPI!) with some Atheros card for WLAN...

Initially I looked at the ESP8266, but open source compilation doesn't fit standard flash. Also no TLS. And code not verified yet.

AFAIK there isn't even an open stack for the ESP? I thought the MAC code was a blob.
