Food for thought: the PS2 (2000) had a 64-bit CPU with 128-bit SIMD, while the Wii U (2012) has a 32-bit CPU with 64-bit SIMD.
@11rcombs But it's not like games need to do double-precision math either, and 4x32-bit SIMD is something the Wii U really could use.
