      @marcan42 Per-File Key is encrypted (protected, wrapped) by File System Key + Class Key. Class Key is encrypted by Hardware Key + Passcode.

      @ScooterComputer That is true, I'm playing fast and loose with the key hierarchy, but this isn't supposed to be a precise technical post.

      @ScooterComputer What I'm trying to get across is just that no PIN means no file keys. The details matter, but not for a Q&A explanation :)
