I hope Apple puts proper firmware update user attestation into the next iPhone so they can just say "no can do" instead of this PR wankfest.

@marcan42 if you want to protect iPhones the bootrom would require all low level drivers for screen, touchpad,hwsetup to ask for a passcode
@i0n1c No need, all you need to do is make sure the user data key is only available to an authorized update.

@i0n1c E.g. it's okay if a DFU mode restore wipes your data. Data continuity would be provided only if update is authorized from full OS. -
