Hrm USB-C has separate data pairs for each side. Joke device possible where it shows up as a different device depending on which side is up?

@marcan42@abcminiuser Couldn't device still monitor both CCx pins to detect which the "host" (DFP) probes, use to determine orientation?
@projectgus @abcminiuser From a quick check, it seems it's impossible for a hardwired-plug device (think flash drive) to know the way.
