      @marcan42 @jacel In theory the discrete cosine transform should be great at that since there's no high frequency information in a rainbow.

      @Esven_the_drake @jacel Real rainbows, sure, but these are rainbow flags/icons with discrete chroma steps which are the bane of DCT!

          @marcan42 @bofh453 @jacel People usually won't notice chroma drift but they will see artifacts from the loss of high frequency information.
