@marcan42 DM is known to be particularly badly mastered, the CD version was super compressed, the Guitar Hero rip sounded much better...
Metallica is the real 8-bit music. I ABX tested a 16-bit vs. 8-bit PCM (dithered) version of a track from Death Magnetic. Indistinguishable.
