      @marcan42 @twiitar wasn't this due to the old PS2 backward compatibility? It proved too hard to emulate right off a disc so they added an EE

      .@acostoss My point is that the board layout of the PS2 RAM chips hasn't changed in all these years. They've been copying and pasting it.

      @marcan42 @acostoss Eh, only in an entirely macro sense, decoupling caps have changed, ground plane is completely diff, and edge traces too

      @JohnHedge @acostoss Caps are in the same places (mostly), ground plane is almost the same, many top layer traces are nearly identical.

          @JohnHedge @acostoss They've made changes, but I don't think it's ever been redone from scratch. Looks like minor incremental changes to me.
