Low power, small box, short load times, and expansion ports. The only thing it was missing was HD, but nobody did HD on Xbox and PS2 anyway.

@marcan42 too bad they went with small capacity discs - a lot of games had very reduced audio quality on GC because of this

@marcan42 music data streams nicely though, so that wouldn't have really increased loading times -
@delroth_ Sure, as long as the devs aren't idiots and put all the non-music data on a contiguous area of the disk to reduce seek times. - Show replies
