      @comex GCC 4.7.2 prints 1 for all of int/char/float/double/int*.

      @marcan42 nice to know. apparently the version of gcc on this goobuntu machine is 4.6.3; I assumed since it wasn't 4.2 it was ok to test :P

      @comex I don't get it then. how could that possibly ever print 1, other than an obscure compiler bug? I certainly can't get that.
