Guess the output on -O3, your preferred compiler and types for a and b: if (a + 5 < b) printf("%d\n", __builtin_constant_p(a + 5 < b));

@marcan42 nice to know. apparently the version of gcc on this goobuntu machine is 4.6.3; I assumed since it wasn't 4.2 it was ok to test :P -
