@marcan42 Ahh, thanks for clarifying. It is an ATi GPU developed near the same time the R6XX series was released, is it not?

@routerbad The GameCube came out in 2001. R600 came out in 2006. Not even close.

@marcan42 So did Nintendo ever confirm that it was in fact GX shrunk down and overclocked? No additional capability whatsoever?

@routerbad they didn't confirm it, but we know that is the case. Same exact hardware interface and SDK API. It might have a few bugfixes.

@marcan42 @routerbad But if the API is the same how can the GPU match at least OpenGL 3.3? It's supposed that it has programmable shaders...

@Cosmycal @marcan42 Hollywood? There had to have been more modern logic on it not worth it to just shrink and o/c.

@routerbad Hollywood was a SoC with new stuff (e.g. Starlet, USB), not just a Flipper shrink. But the GX part was basically the same.

@marcan42 Ahh, I was under the impression there were some things Wii could pull of graphically that GCN couldn't, it's been a while...

@routerbad AFAIK it's down to the higher clockspeed. There may be some tweaks that we don't know about, but if so, they're very minor.
