Great logo! Do you have any idea what the timeline for this project looks like? I’m guessing a few months?
Timeline until what? :-) Getting Linux booting should be a month or two; getting everything working nicely including the GPU will take much longer, but it's impossible to say with any certainty at this stage.
Yes that’s what I had in mind! Thank you. Do you know how the UI will look? I think something like this https://www.behance.net/gallery/103086421/OsloOS-Linux-UI-Concept-%282020%29 … would look amazing, and would give the hardware you’re porting it to a good match
Our goal is to make Linux run on Apple Silicon, not to create a new desktop experience, so you can use whatever desktop Linux environment you want. A priori we are not planning on developing anything new on that front, just making existing things run well.
Things that *are* in scope, though, are details such as the Touch Bar; I don't know how far we'll push for integration with that, but at the very least there will be some new software developed to make it useful (that will also be useful for Intel Touch Bar Macs down the line).
