I find it interesting how this whole GPU stack goes unnoticed by most kernel developers, yet they scream their lungs out about any potential neural net inferencing. They'd love to have all the input data, yet they don't care about 200 MB of unmaintainable nonsense right in there.
This whole old gatekeeper-based development model has been at its limits for a while... The question is, what will it take for things to change. If they at least were consistent, but that they aren't and it depends on with whom you get drunk enough for them to like ya...
