2 spaces is the Arduino IDE default; I was just making the project consistent as it was previously using a mix. The problem with tabs is that it does not allow for visual alignment. For that you have to go to mixed tabs/spaces, and that's not lossless to transform.

That's a VM or a remote desktop. Obviously Linux does not run side-by-side with macOS natively and never will.
