Gentoo has one of the most complex package dependency graphs out there (probably the most complex of any distro), and it *really* takes a while to resolve when you have 2600 packages installed and haven't updated in 3 months. I wonder if it could be mapped to a SAT solver...

Challenge failed, mostly because I was too busy to babysit it when packages failed and broke the rebuild tree (boost. it's always boost breaking a build.) ~just 30 packages left and we're in 2021. So close!

Package manager names are very telling. - dnf: so slow it does never finish. - pacman: eats all your configs. - emerge: it takes half an eternity to solve the conflicts, after which you emerge from your basement like an old forgotten god.
