Wait until you can’t boot it at all because the APFS volume was corrupted. BSOD all over again.

I already shrunk it and the process complained of errors (fresh machine here). Already saw a mac die due to APFS crapping out and had to do data recovery for a friend a few months ago... I guess it's a good thing I'm putting a real OS on this thing ;)

Little chance that I will buy another Mac to replace my wonderful 2015 Air. I skipped the keyboard disaster, but lately OS quality has gone downhill, with a tiring tendency to lockdown. Only my linux machines are behaving well. Unfortunately I still need one Windows box.

Seems that Apple is following the steps of Micros~1 and is outsourcing development to the cheapest contractor. Linux and the M1 would make for a potent combo, but Apple's business model and their anti-openness attitude are enough reason to stop and think again ...

The strange thing is that updates are seamless on iOS. I don’t even notice that my device updated itself overnightS

Would be interesting to see where that time really goes. Because on the APFS side, it should actually work like that. But I hear that they do millions of AES wraps on the SEP side when updating SEPOS...

And linux can kexec in a new kernel even.... It is almost like some systems are going backwards at this point.
