By the way, I'm not sure why people are surprised that Nintendo monitored public IRC channels, forums, and presentations. Outrage over stalking neimod to his home I get, but that part? Come on, of *course* they have people looking into public discussion. Those weren't DMs.

I had a company do this (HTC), it gets bad. Started involving my home and work, middle of night phone vallspolice and eff got involved. 100% this is no go behavior on nintendo

Yeah, but I'm sure it wasn't a problem until they started tracking you down personally. You wouldn't expect them not to be aware of what you're doing in public online spaces.

The online presence is probably odd to people cuz a lot still see Nintendo as this backwards ass company still stuck 20 years behind everyone else (which isnt a bad assumption sometimes) and thus wouldnt expect them to "be able" to be privy of these things
