Yes, Nintendo's PI scripted a Choose Your Own Adventure where they would say he MIGHT facilitate piracy IF he released a hack. I don't know what that has to do with your argument.

I mean he was apparently involved, directly or indirectly with piracy, so they weren't wrong. The document suggests that they'd ignore his activities if they played ball with him.

The document proves he didn't do anything prior to it.

"Proves?" It's just one document. Investigations such as these tend to have more than just this one draft. They seemed to conclude that he was a decent fellow and that they shouldn't send Legal to crush him despite his connections to warez groups.

Except they were 100% willing to send Legal if he refused to work with them.

https://twitter.com/marcan42/status/1341330839993339905 … Here go read this. This is a guy who actually worked for them in a similar capacity. He mentions the difference in tone from pre-2015 Nintendo to post-2015 Nintendo.

Hector Martin @marcan42Storytime: I did some pentesting and advising work for Nintendo after they approached me (via email, not stalking) in 2015. This was professional work on a freelance/consulting basis. That NDA has expired. I won't talk about project details but let's talk about how that went.Show this thread2 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -

The Miyamoto anecdote, while true, was mentioned as a joke. You'd have to be a very shallow individual, or a massive Nintendo fanboy (to a problematic point), to actually let such an anecdote affect your opinion of everything else.

You know, there's nothing bad about admitting working for your dream company and sitting next to the creator of Mario will inevitably alter your perception.

I was *consulting* for them (in a few brief stints), and half of my thread was dedicated to explaining the problems with their environment... No, really, they aren't my dream company. They're just a client. You should've figured that out by now.

Also, in case you're wondering, they did hint at the option of hiring me as a proper employee, and I rejected that.
