They're not. They obviously didn't want to send this man to prison, which is why they took matters into their own hands. This type of document isn't the dystopian cyberpunk thing you think it is. It's not out of the ordinary. A lot of us are/were required to write like that.

The Miyamoto anecdote, while true, was mentioned as a joke. You'd have to be a very shallow individual, or a massive Nintendo fanboy (to a problematic point), to actually let such an anecdote affect your opinion of everything else.
Also he was just ordering coffee in line in front of me and I didn't even notice until someone else pointed it out to me. I certainly didn't eat dinner with him :p

I'm so sorry for dragging you into this. I'm not a fan of Nintendo and haven't bought anything from them in almost two decades. I did not expect to have my opinion of them improve in a thread dedicated to their excesses.
