I somehow hope we can do both? Keep conferences physical for those who want (and charge them more), but systematically offer a simultaneous live stream of every talk.
What I mean is physical conferences should have remote attendees (both audience and presenter side). I'm not saying all conferences have to go online-only (though online-only conferences should be encouraged too).
