fun fact: it may be the exact same bug too
My TASCAM audio interface's panning controls are 0-254 L-R, then 255 is L again.

I'm *guessing* this is so 127 is dead center, which it otherwise wouldn't be... But the overflow behavior is, shall we say, less than optimal.
