But really, I used to swap phones because they got *old*, not because they *died* (other than batteries). My Nexus S still works fine. There's still a Galaxy Nexus kicking around my parents' house. Tablets too, my Nexus 10 is slow but still *works* after two battery swaps.
For anyone wondering, my main criteria for a smartphone are: - Unlockable bootloader - LineageOS (or good chances thereof) - 3.5mm jack - No hideous notch (I've resigned myself to accepting a hole-punch camera) - Type C 3A charging or PD - Overall decent specs (midrange)
If you add front facing stereo speakers and 1440p oled to this, you gave zero options. Zero. Phones are all shit. Nobody makes a good one. There are overpriced gimmick phones and cheap trash with nothing in between.
I had great experiences with Sony phones. I dropped my current Xperia 10ii at least a dozen times and there's barely a scratch on it let alone broken functionality. The 10 (not 10ii) has a Lineage OS version too
Only disadvantage would be that the camera quality suffers a bit when unlocking the bootloader, at least that was the case when I looked into it a while ago.
Just dont go with snapdragon. Exynos is the only way for unlocked bootloader lineage 17 now is out for s20 and s10+, i would go for oneplus phone for phone jack and really good spec and usb-c charging. I have s20 and the whole punch camera sucks. S21 is out in jan.
i got weak and gave up on the 3.5mm jack with my oneplus 7pro. i managed to not immediately lose my USB-C adapters somehow but good god phone manufacturers please stop this stupid trend and just let us use our goddamn headphones
Except for the BQ we've had the same phones and I too am thinking of switching to a Nexus 4a because my MI A2 performance has downgraded (and their latest patch wiped my phone) Only the battery is holding me back. That and that I'm mad at the whole two year upgrade cycle.
An Asus Zenfone 6 could be an option with these requirements. Bootloader can be unlocked with an app from Asus. They gave free Zenfones to custom rom developers, hence there was quite early a working LOS. But it is also really close to ASOP.

I was using a Nexus 4 for 6 years until touchscreen started to fail. Then I replaced it with a Mi A2 (currently with LineageOS for MicroG) and after 2 years it works like the first day. Unfortunately no 3.5 jack and charge is limited to 2A, so it does not meet your requirements.
