I repro'd the horrible OBS broken/stuttering audio output bug. Finally. It happens after a few seconds of spamming monitoring mode changes with multiple active audio sources, via the websockets plug-in. More debugging tomorrow. This has been going on for 3+ years.

That type of PR sounds a bit difficult for most people though.
It's probably a dumb bug, like the two PRs I just filed for race conditions. Heck, given how the repro is probabilistic, I bet it's a race condition.

Wait, we're crossing streams here. None of this is about AAC. The ffmpeg AAC encoder quality issues have nothing to do with the bug I'm talking about today.
