This year it's worse because an Indian YouTuber with hundreds of thousands of subscribers encouraged his entire viewerbase to do this with a step by step tutorial.

They send like 20 PRs, even if 16 of them get labelled as spam, they'll still get a shirt. Besides, developers should not have to play spam filter for an entire month for some company's benefit.
