Hector Martin @marcan42And now, this thing, which I bought a while ago but hadn't looked at yet: TL;DR it's crap. Fake USB3.0 (connector & cable, but not internals). MJPEG only. And it *craps out* if the frame is too complex (gives up, refuses to stream), probably fixed qp MJPEG exceeding bandwidth? pic.twitter.com/JjfJKuUykhShow this thread1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

Meh, it works fine and has only like 1 frame lag. It works fine.

i should clarify 1 frame of lag on the capture - the actual relay is fine.

Yeah, I have one too. It works well enough, just doesn't have anywhere near the bang-for-your-buck as the little black ones that look like oversized thumb drives.

Just took a closer look at the link, didn't realize they were putting out USB3.0 versions. I'd be dubious as to whether or not those actually perform as advertised. The USB2.0 is the one people have used a bunch and does 720p60 or 1080p30. Not amazing, but works as advertised.

I can all but guarantee the USB3.0 one is fake and has the same innards, unless there is a brand new chipset. Still buying one, in case there is a brand new chipset. For that price it'd be silly not to find out.
