      Just a cursory look: we know the display has 8 lanes, I'm sure Apple didn't get AMD to customize any silicon for this, and the Windows driver has these strings. I think it's just two tiles over two normal DP links with the driver making it look like one. pic.twitter.com/X4hEllHEV0

      I'm not really an expert, but I think 5K/tiling support may require DAL/DC http://redd.it/bgvotu  (thus AMDGPU which doesn't ship by default on <gfx8) It may be slightly bugged in turn, but nothing really breaking the bank https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/amd/-/issues/781 …

      I expect to be fixing amdgpu anyway, given that radeon works. Been there done that before.
