Seriously, it feels like a new computer just because the GPU and, more importantly, the drivers aren't garbage. This is the first time I've had tearing-free (composited!) video on my main workstation in half a decade. Intel used to be good but they really dropped the ball.
I'm not moved over yet, this is a test booting my existing OS off of USB, but this will likely become my primary workstation in the coming weeks, after I get around to upgrading its internal storage and CPU.
I just realized 5K isn't actually showing up as an option for display output, but just 4K max?
Why would the iMac be an appealing choice for your workstation? Genuinely curious. I would have assumed this is less desirable than normal PC components
Because someone is selling one to me for cheap, and I've been wanting a 4K screen, and it has Thunderbolt.
