I had been putting off the screen replacement of my ThinkPad X230 because laptops... and I just realized it's 6 screws. That's it. Took 10 minutes.

Yeah, I know. AFAICT only one guy sells it and he decided to put Pepe on the board which... well, let's just say doesn't encourage me to throw money at him.

didn't know that, didn't go for it anyway because it doesn't make much sense for me to put what makes up the entire value of the laptop into a screen upgrade that said, as far as upgrades go i can totally recommend replacing the keyboard with x220 one, also very trivial

Oh, I didn't know you could do that. I got mostly used to the x230 one, but I'll keep it in mind if it breaks and I need to replace it anyway.

kind of wish I noticed before I ordered both that and the display that said it's been over a year I think since I got them and I haven't actually done the upgrade (heck I only bought a soldering iron recently) so I might ignore the upgrade kit and reuse the 1080p eDP for someth

heck I bet I could repurpose the X230 motherboard + dock into... something, and the X230 case into something else or just buy a regular replacement display idk hard to decide what to do with older but still-usable hardware
