Don't buy an inkjet printer, just get a laser printer. It'll save you money if you factor in ink and make you cry less.

Depends on what you're doing though, definitely yes for text and flat graphics, but I've had mediocre experiences with an affordable color laser printer vs cheap inkjets for photo/full color prints. High quality laser printers are expensive, any old inkjet can do decent photos.

I've never been able to get good photos out of an inkjet that isn't a custom photo printer. But I haven't tried a really low end color laser either, just a like $200 Xerox, which can hang pretty well with an inkjet for photos.

It's possible low end color lasers have significantly improved since I last had one (Samsung CLP-315), to be fair. That one was kind of meh. These days I have a specific Canon inkjet because it can do direct CD label prints, which is something no laser can do :)
